A friend is someone who helps you up when you’re down, and if they can’t, they lay down beside you and listen.”
—Winnie the Pooh
In this series of Friendship Group meetings, your child will learn and practice coping skills, cooperation with peers, and grow social confidence. In a small group setting, your child will be able to interact with others through social and emotional learning activities geared toward their developmental level.
This six-week group, guided by early-childhood therapist Brianna Worland, M.S., will help your child improve social skills by using the science of emotional regulation and play-based learning.
Why are social skills important?
- Connect well with peers
- Plug into school more easily
- Feel more confident about speaking up
- Feel less nervous about joining in with others
- Discover new ways to cope and manage emotions within a group of friends
